Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling in Milton Keynes

Whatever your concern we give you methods that allow you to gain fast and long lasting results using one or a combination of therapies such as Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Tapping and Stress Management.

Let me tell you more about the therapies that may help you:

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a feeling of deep relaxation, you are not fully awake or fully asleep, you remain totally in control throughout. It’s not like being asleep, more like the feeling of drifting off to sleep. I often refer to it as trance-sleep.

Hypnosis is a state of mind that most of us may experience nearly every day. For example do you remember when driving, and you suddenly look around and cannot remember the last few miles; or watching the TV but having no idea what you are watching, and realise you have been daydreaming?

In this deeply relaxed hypnotic state the subconscious mind is open to positive change. Many people are surprised to find how natural and normal it feels.

Hypnotherapy is all about comfort and relaxation. When you are fully relaxed your conscious mind is switched off and your subconscious mind is able to overcome negative habits, learn new positive habits and create new patterns of behaviour: this is why hypnotherapy is so successful.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) combined with Hypnotherapy. CBT is best described as a way of talking about:

How you think about yourself, the world and other people

How what you do affects your thoughts and feelings.

CBT can help you to change how you think (‘Cognitive’) and what you do (‘Behaviour’). These changes can help you to feel better. Unlike some of the other talking treatments, it focuses on the ‘here and now’ problems and difficulties. Instead of focusing on the causes of your distress or symptoms in the past, it looks for ways to improve your state of mind now.

Whereas Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is undertaken in a logical conscious state; backing up your new awareness subconsciously and emotionally through Hypnotherapy enhances your new beliefs to bring about positive change.

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a method of influencing brain behaviour (the “neuro” part of the phrase) through the use of language (the “linguistic” part) and other types of communication to enable a person to change the way the brain responds to stimuli (that’s the “programming”) and demonstrate new and improved behaviours. Neuro-Linguistic Programming often incorporates Hypnosis to help you achieve the change you desire. Find out more about Neuro Linguistic Programming and how it can help here

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is basically a way of working with you that identifies and helps change specific behaviours. It effectively focuses on the thoughts and feelings that drive undesirable behaviour. The theory being that if your thoughts change, then so too will your behaviour. Stress Management

This is not about stress-free living. Stress is an inevitable part of our lives. Too much and we can feel pressured; too little and we may lose our energy and drive, thus leading us to physical and emotional inactivity. Stress at the right level is essential to our wellbeing, creating motivation and interest. The emphasis here is teaching life management skills and stress control; so that you feel you can readily cope with the demands in your life.

TFT (Tapping)

Often described as acupuncture without needles, this meridian based therapy involves tapping the body’s acupuncture pressure points using your fingers. This technique connects the body & emotions via the body’s energy system. It is quick and easy to learn and often has fast results. Tapping works well in conjunction with other therapies and is stated to have an 80-95% success rate.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness may be described as a mental and physical technique you can use to concentrate on the present moment. Being in the moment allows you to be aware of, to accept and to cope with challenging thoughts feelings and emotions.

Undertaking mindfulness as a daily practice is simple and effective, taking just a few minutes formal practice each day and also being practised informally as you go about your daily life. It is a really helpful tool to help you with self-care. Find out more about Mindfulness and how it can help you here

How can I access these therapies?

Whichever of the above therapies we agree together, the main benefit will be opening your mind to new and improved thoughts and beliefs.

Sometimes you may merely lack certain strengths, abilities or insights. Alternatively, you may already possess the strengths, abilities/ insights you need, but perhaps they are hidden or blocked by negative outlooks or behaviour. Whatever the reason by using the effective methods and interventions at Set Your Mind Free  you can bring about the change/s you desire.

You know how hard it can be to take that first step on the road to self-improvement. Yet invariably it is the thought of the effort of change that is harder than change itself. In fact how often do you say after finally taking the leap, “Why didn’t I do that sooner?” It goes to show that your mind creates barriers to moving forward, not so much because it is difficult, but because you may fear the unknown, even if it turns out to be a better place!

So, if you find yourself standing hesitantly at the edge of moving away from your past, ask yourself this. Change might seem frightening and an effort, but how much more of an effort and how frightening will it be to spend yet another year locked within your problem – or even a lifetime? The solution is within your grasp. Take the leap towards a brighter future and contact us to move forward. We are here to support you and we will work with you every step of the way.

“A YEAR FROM NOW YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD STARTED TODAY!”
